This evening I had to go to Villa St.Martain retreat center for the annual Priest s retreat. So I had cancelled the Sunday mass at the Port. But when I registered at the retreat house. Fr.Gerry informed that the Preacher s flight is delayed and the evening talk is canceled. At the same time I got a call from the Seafarers center that being the remembrance day the Seafarers wish to have mass. Yesterday and today I had visited ships and covering night duty too. The winter is beginning with minus whether and it's becoming difficult for the Seafarers to keep watch at the gang way for four hours. For who work out side particularly during lashing to do it with the cold wind really a hard work. So let us remember them in our prayers. Yesterday I had an interesting call from Fr.Darius a Polish Priest working in the Archdiocese of Montreal whom I had known for a long time inquired about a ship which had come for bunkering at the Port of Montreal in section 72. When I gave him the information about the ship, he said that his brother is a Captain of a ship and a friend of his whom he had met in Poland with his brother is in the ship which is bunking. He also said that the ship is expected to sail in two hours and if I could take him on board to meet the Polish friend. I had agreed and took a chance. Yesterday morning 9.30a.m to 11.30a.m Deacon Michael Ho had made arrangements with Sault and Light TV programmers to record an interview about the ministry of AoS Canada at St Agnes Chinese parish in Markham. They had questions about the activities of AoS Canada and how many chaplains and volunteers are involved in this ministry and about the structure of the organization.
In the afternoon Deacon Michael Ho wanted me to to meet with a new volunteer he has recruited. He is a former Seafarer Everest DSouza now living in Markham.
